NASA PREPARES A SUPERSONIC PLANE AND SILENT.
The supersonic commercial flights are banned over certain territory, especially because of the "bang" that they generate when they pass the sound barrier.
To fight against this problem, NASA is working on a silent supersonic aircraft.
According to an article written by Jonathan Sare in Futura-Sciences, civilian supersonic flight is an important issue because it allows, among other things, reduce the flight time of the long-haul.
Since the withdrawal of the Concorde in 2003, it is no longer possible to fly on a civilian supersonic aircraft.
Already at the time of its operation, the noise generated by passing the sound barrier made it unusable at supersonic speeds over land.
Faced with this problem, NASA decided to develop a silent supersonic aircraft model. Numerous studies have already been made, as in the wind tunnel in the laboratory and the US space agency believes it is time to develop a prototype.
